Yashwant Deshmukh

Born in 1963. Obtained a BFA in Painting at the Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai. Recipient of several awards including the Sixth Bharat Bhawan Indian Contemporary Art Biennial's Grand prize in 1996, and the Bendre-Husain scholarship award. Has held solo shows of his work and participated in several group shows including 'Seven for Seven' an exhibition of paintings by seven international artists, Hong Kong, 'Bombay 17', a group show curated by Krishnamachari Bose, a two artist show 'Reserve' held at Kashi Art Gallery, Kochi, and 'Known Unknown' curated by eminent artist Amitava Das in New Delhi.
