Nilima Sheikh

Born in 1945, Studied History at the Delhi University and Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda. Taught painting at the Faculty between 1977 and 1981. Has held 12 solo shows and participated in several group exhibitions in India and abroad. Her research on the Pichwais of Nathdwara (1986-87) was supported by the National Handloom and Handicraft Museum. Very interested in theatre design, and has done the visual design and painted sets for several theatre productions. Has also illustrated books for children, and written on art in books, journals and catalogue essays.
