Haku Shah

Born in 1934. Obtained a Master's degree at Baroda University. Recipient of several awards for his contribution to art, including the Nehru Fellowship Award, the Rockefeller Fellowship award, the Kala Gaurav, the Gagan Avani Purshkar, the Padma Shri and the Kala Ratna. He is a recognized authority on tribal art in India. Tributes to the artist were published in 'Invisible Order', a book on the artist published in 1999.
